RUSSLEY LADIES’ CLUB
Championship matches were concluded at Russley yesterday. In the final of the club championship, played over 36 holes, Mrs G. E. Sinclair beat Miss C. E. Wood. 6 and 4. After being all square at the ninth hole, Mrs Sinclair went on to a lead of 3 up with par figures at the tenth and twelfth holes, and a birdie at the dog-leg thirteenth. In the afternoon round, Mrs Sinclair went on to a lead of 7 up. At the sixth Miss Wood sank a perfect chip shot for a birdie 4 and reduced the lead to 6. The next two holes were halved. Miss Wood was on the green at the ninth ih 3, and sank her putt for a birdie, Mrs Sinclair being out in 39 and Miss Wood in 41. At the twelfth Mrs Sinclair played a perfect shot to the green from behind the trees, and the hole was halved in bogey figures. Miss Wood won the next fn 5, and the match ended at the thirty-second hole, Mrs Sinclair’s chip shot just failing to give her a birdie 4. Junior Challenge Cup.—Mrs H. Cordery beat Mrs K. B. Mabin, 6 and 5. Junior Cup: Mrs W. A. C. Turner beat Miss I. Home, 1 up, at the nineteenth. Championship flight: Mrs E. Partridge beat Mrs C. M. Lipscombe, 3 and 2. Junior MS « iT E - K - Brown
