(From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, September 23. further good progress with the list of legislation on the Order Paper was made by the House of Representatives today. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) announced to the House that it might be necessary, however, to sit on Monday next from 2.30 p.m. until midnight to consider proposed legislation dealing with recommendations of the juvenile deliquency report. He also moved the usual motion that the House should sit until midnight on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays until, the
Five bills were passed today—the Police Force Amendment Bill, the Land Subdivision in Counties Amendment Bill, the Rural Intermediate Credit Amendment Bill, the Counties Amendment Bill, and the Taupo County Bill. The committee stages were taken on the Superannuation Amendment Bill, the Medical Amendment Bill, the Stock Amendment Bill, the Stock Remedies Amendment Bril, the Defamation Bill, the Merchandise Marks Bill, the Quarries Amendment Bill, and the Friendly Societies Amendment Bill. Second readings of the Municipal Corporations Bill, the Rating Amendment Bill, the Local Authorities’ Members Contract Bill; the Criminal Justice Bill, and the Penal Institutions Bill were also taken.
