SCIENTIST’S TRANSFER
Suggestion. Made By Security tist Dr. Standish Masterman, has been removed from secret work on guided missiles after investigations into his past political associations. He has been transferred to a post in the Ministry’s engineering division at the same pay of £35 a week. Security officials suggested the when they saw Dr. Mastermans answers to a questionnaire in which he «aid he had been a member of the Communist Party, but had resigned in 1 Dr. Masterman’s superiors believed in his loyalty to the country and he was moved with his own agreement The questionnaire answered by Dr. Ma=terman is completed by all GovernnSnt officials on secret work as part of an intensified security drive, which began a year ago. Dr. Masterman, who is in bis early forties, is the first scientist affected since the drive began.
