ISISFORD WINS MAIN EVENT (New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, August 29. The weather was fine for the Foxton Racing Club’s meeting at Foxton on Saturday. The track was cutting out. The on-course totalisator handled : £55,225, including £7132 in doubles, com- ' pared with £59,517 10s last year—a de- . crease of £4292 10s. The winning double. Isisford-Sleipnir, paid £l3l 9s 6d for £l. When Berserk fell in the Hack and Hunters’ Steeplechase, his jockey, B. McHardy, broke a collarbone. After the Bergin Handicap a statement J was taken from the starter, Mr L. G. , Morris, and the rider of News Girl, A. : Johnson. It was found that News Girl ; was taken out of the stall for adjust-

ment to a tongue strap, and when she went in she straddled her front legs in the stall and her back legs on the other side of the rail. She kicked, and then lay with one leg on the stall and the other leg on the other side. As she suffered some injury, it was decided not to start her.
