DICKENS FELLOWSHIP

A programme of readings and sketches, arranged by Miss E. Bachelor, was presented at a meeting of the Dickens Fellowship recently. Readings were given by Mrs A. E. Caddick, Mrs A, Irwin and Mr J. Prescott, and those who took part in sketches were Miss T. Eldridge (Mrs Nickleby), Miss B. B. Taylor (Kate), Mr N. Stouppe (Nicholas), Mr A. E. Caddick (the “gentleman" next door), Mrs E. R. Grainger (Miss Squeers), Mr G. McCleary (Mr Browdie), Mrs L. J. Morris (Mrs Browdie), Mr S. D. Wilson (Mr Squeers), and Mr J. Prescott (Master Squeers). Miss P. Brunt gave a talk on “Mealtimes through literature,” with special reference to the habits of the characters of Dickens’s works.
