WARWICK STAKES WON BY TARIEN FANCIED EPSOM HANDICAP ENTRANTS BEATEN (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY. August 22. Tarien gave a galloping lesson to fancied Epsom Handicap horses when she won the Warwick Stakes at Warwick Farm yesterday. Ridden to the front by D. Munro, Tarien was not afterwards challenged. She ran home winner by a length and a quarter from Prince Cortauld, with Carioca a length away third. Tarien’s more solid condition contributed to her success. The hot favourite, Lindbergh, finished a disapopinting fourth in the Hobart vine Stakes. An outsider. Pride of Egypt, led B ractically all the way to win the race y half a length from Indian Empire, with Coronada two lengths back, third. A fancied Epsom candidate. Crown Signal, broke a leg in the Campbelltown Handicap, and had to be destroyed. Stirrup Cup came home in good style to win the race from Spearby and Mardi Tout.
