Labour Group Visits Chinese Steelworks
(Rec. 10 p.m.) ANSHAN (Manchuria), August 21. The British Labour Party goodwill mission today inspected China’s greatest steelworks here—the first Western delegation to see them since the Chinese Peoples’ Government was formed in 1949. Mr Attlee and his seven colleagues steamed into Anshan station from Mukden, 60 miles away, this morning in a one coach de luxe special train whose brightly polished engine bore a large slogan reading “Defend world peace.” „A ns L an M as originally developed with the aid of Japanese capital in the early twenties.
