MINOR FIRES

Sacks and rags at the Al Bottle Exchange, 240 A St. Asaph street, were slightly damaged by fire last evening. The Christchurch Fire Brigade was called at 8.44 p.m., and four units from the central station responded. The roof of Anthony’s Bakery, at 792 Colombo street, on the corner of Oxford terrace, was slightly damaged by a small fire to which the brigade was called at iO p.m. Four headquarters’ units attended. Two engines from the central station and one from St. Albans answered a call at 12.03 p.m. to a small grass fire at 25A Jacksons road, Fendalton. A call at 6.39 p.m. to a chimney fire at 63 Purchas street, "~~upied by Mr I. C. Tucker, was answered by a unit from the Sydenham station. The grass and chimney fires did no damage.
