MISS J. GREENWOOD’S GUESTS Miss Judith Greenwood, of Teviotdale, North Canterbury, was hostess yesterday at a very targe and most enjoyable cocktail party, held at Elizabeth House. In the entertainment of her guests, Miss Greenwood had the help of her parents, Mr and Mrs H. D. Greenwood, and of her sister, Miss Daphne Greenwood, as well as her fiance, Mr Anthony Johnson. STATE BURSARIES IN BALLET FOUR AWARDS ANNOUNCED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 11. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Sir William Bodkin) has announced the award of four Government bursaries in ballet. “These awards are made every second year,” said Sir William Bodkin. “This allows the professional selection committee to be augmented by the overseas examiner of the Royal Academy of Dancing, who was this year Miss Marion Knight.” The bursaries are valued at £360 s year, and have been awarded to: Miss Sandra Hill, of Wellington, two years; Miss Joan Peek, of Wellington, two years; Miss Joyce Quealy, of Auckland, one year; and Miss Creina Gee, of Auckland, one year. The award to Miss Gee is to enable her to make an extensive study of overseas teaching techniques.
