LANDY INVITED TO VISIT N.Z. PLANS FOR FUTURE NOT YET SETTLED (Special Correspondent N.ZJP.A). (Rec. 9 p.m.) VANCOUVER. Aug. 10. John Lgndy, Australia’, world mile re-cord-holder, may run in New Zealand next summer. Landy, who was second to Rager Ban ■lster, England, In the British Empire Games mile at Vancouver on Saturday has been invited by Mr H. L. Towers manager of the New Zealand athletic tearat the Games, to visit New Zealand. !*■ Towers extended the invitation on behaH of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. He also Intends to Invite the Australian high jump champion. John Vernon, and the British Empire Games 100 yards champion, Michael Agostini, of Trinidad. Landy said be was unable at thia stage to give a definite answer because his plans for the future were not settled. He intends to go to the European Games and then, on present arrangements, to return to a new Job in Australia. He said, however, that he would like to visit New Zealand -and might be able to do ao next summer.
