TRAP SHOOTING

CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED AT LEESTON

Sighting of the targets was more difficult than usual; due to unfavourable weather, when the Ellesmere Gun Club held the annual trap shooting match for the South Island 21 yards championship, on its ground at Leeston.

The match drew 39 competitors, eight of whom tied with 12 on out of a possible of 14. They were S. Marston. T. Nicholson, J. F. Parkin. W. A. Anderson. T. Everett, S. Geddes, R. G. Allan, and W. L. Gabbie. In a £1 sweep, L. J. Eden and S. Inwood tied with a possible of nine birds. D. S. Dohrlen, A. W. Fraser, T. Nicholson, C. Bodker, F. Inwood, J. Brigntling. and E. W. F. Donald, each with eight on, shared third place. A first-miss-out was won at the end of the fourth round bv T. Nicholson, J. F. Parkin, and W. A. Anderson. In three Trench sweeps, T. Everett, W. H. Winchester, and W. A. Anderson won the first, the second was won by T. Everett and C. C. Skinner, and the third by T. Everett.
