TENSIONS IN HANOI
(Rec. 1130 p.m.) PARIS, July 20. French Army tanks are patrolling the streets of Hanoi today as a precaution against anti-French riots. The Vietnamese municipal police are also standing by, but no incidents have been reported. The Transport Section of the French Military Command in Northern IndoChina is reported to have a detailed plan ready for the evacuation of all the 6000 remaining French citizens scce a cease-fire agreement is signed in Geneva.
The French authorities are also said to be planning the evacuation of all Vietnamese who want to leave the trea before the French withdrawal. Military quarters estimate that the French Command would need at least fice month to evacuate Hanoi.
