mending also that the extension be given favourable consideration with next year’s estimates. The board further decided to direct the engineer to prepare a contract for sewering the Jackman’s subdivision and to call for tenders. Three property owners in Nancy avenue had asked for sewers. “We. have a big programme ahead of us this year,” said the chairman of the works committee (Mr W. P. Glue). Northcote Road Property Amazement at the board’s advice that sewerage facilities for his land would not be available until the completion of the northern relief sewer, and possibly a sewer in Tuttons road, was expressed in a letter from Mr C. C. 'McLachlan, of Northcote road. The works committee reported that the land was practically surrounded by State-owned land purchased for housing development. The Housing Department was advised several months ago that it would be a long time before a sewer outfall could be provided for the block. “It is understood that the State Advances Corporation may propose to make the Government’s Northcote road property available for the group building scheme,” said the committee’s report. “The committee considers that the situation regarding sewerage should be made known to the cor-1
