YACHTING
CANTERBURY CLUB Mr S. Mander, commodore of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club, welcomed visitors and members at the annual prize-giving social at Lyttelton on Saturday evening. The Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr F. G. Briggs) congratulated the club on a successful season. Frizes won last season were presented by the president (Mr W. T. Lester) as follows: X Class.—D. Bryson (Henderson Cup, Foster Cup, Beryl Stacey trophy, W. J. Toomey Memorial Cup); E. O. Sinclair (Tracy Gough Cup, Navy League Cup, J. Neville Memorial, Norris and Wea’rne barometer); A. W. Shields (Brown Memorial, Harry Brodie Memorial); G. Moor (Sillars Memorial); A. Forsyth (Tuohy Cup for crews’ race); S. Price (Avenger Cup). Z Class.—K. Norris (club cup, Moller Cup, Forsyth Cup); P. E. Pritchett (Sargentina Cup); J. Hawtin (trophy for crews’ race); D. Norris (Collins Memorial trophy); Miss G. Lambert (Sutton Cup for women’s race).
