OTAGO ICESKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS
CHRISTCHURCH ENTRANTS SUCCESSFUL (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 18. Christchurch skaters took most of the honours at the first championship meeting conducted by the Otago Ice Skating Association at Arrowtown today. A large Christchurch contingent provided most of the entries. Competitors from Alexandra, Roxburgh Hydro, and Cromwell swelled the total. Christchurch skaters won most of the open events. lan McDonald and his sister, Miss L. McDonald, were successful in several events. In events confined to Otago skaters, the honours were shared by Jim and Jack O’Kane and their sister, Miss N. O’Kane, of Alexandra. The speed events were dominated by J. Belt, of Roxburgh Hydro. The ice was in reasonable order.
