MINOR FIRES
The overheating of barley caused a fire in a barley hopper at the Canterbury Seed Company, Ltd. Addington, on Saturday afternoon. Units of the Christchurch Fire Brigade answered the call at 1.32 p.m. No damage wa*S done. The brigade answered a call at 9.14 a.m. on Saturday to a chimney fire in a house at 10 Onslow street, occupied by Herbert Ernest Paul. An oven fire in a house at 118 Geraldine street, occupied by Arthur Vile, was attended by a unit from the central station ana one from the Sydenham station at 3.14 p.m. on Saturday. There was no damage. 1926, 1927, and 1928. He also competed with some success at New Zealand championship tournaments where he became known as one of the Dominion’s leading left-hand players. Mr Richmona is survived by his wife, one son, and a daughter.
