HEAVY RAIN AT TRENTHAM
MEETING MAY BE ABANDONED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 16. Abandonment of the final day of the Wellington winter races was considered at an emergency meeting of stewards of the Wellington Racing Club late this afternoon, but it was decided to postpone making a final decision till 7.30 tomorrow, when an announcement will be broadcast
Rain set in on Thursday night in Wellington and fell intermittently this morning and throughout this afternoon. Until tonight two inches of rain had fallen in Wellington and the Hutt Valley. A little less fell at Trentham.
