LONDON WOOL SALES

CROSSBREDS SELL STEADILY (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, July 16. Crossbred wools of all descriptions sold steadily at the resumed London wool sales on Wednesday, says a report issued by the Committee of London Wool Brokers and the London agency of the New Zealand Wool Commission. The Home trade dominated the market. The offering consisted of 11,870 bales, including 7417 bales from New Zealand. Slipes again comprised the largest part of the New Zealand offering and only a few hundred bales of greasy and scoured wools were catalogued. One large consignment from Invercargill comprised the best of the selection in the greasy wools and these fine crossbreds were in od demand under wide competitio rices for the most part one penny grease dearer than those paid last Fr

No ci was evident in the market for scoured crossbreds, but the quantity catalogued was really too small to provide a clear guide. Nearly all the freezing works were represented in the heavy offering of slipes, which was often in better style than the wool catalogued last week. The torie of this section of the market was basically sound, add although fewer extreme prices were paid, the general level was steady, with one exception. This was that buyers showed some discrimination against halfbred lambs ,of not quite combing length, so that in their case values were occasionally irregular.
