“GUESTS” DRINKING AFTER HOURS
NELSON POLICE POLICY ON PROSECUTIONS (New Zealand Press Association) NELSON, June 12. Any person found after hours on licensed premises in Nelson who is not a lodger will be charged by the policeand will have to prove to the Court that he is a bona fide guest This statement was made by SeniorSergeant C. George in the Magistrate’s Court at Nelson in reply to a question by defence counsel in a licensing case.
Senior-Sergeant George said the law provided that persons found on licensed premises after hours »were required to satisfy the Court that they were there for lawful purposes. That was provided for in the Licensing Act.
