TREATMENT OF MILK
NEW STATION NOT YET LICENSED
No licence to treat milk at the new balancing station on the Main North road has yet been granted to the Canterbury Dairy Farmers’ Co-operative Milk Supply Company, according to the regional officer of the New Zealand Milk Board (Mr M. Langford).' A meetin'g of Fendalton and Riccarton residents on Tuesday evening was told by the president of the Milk Consumers’ Protection Association (Mr W. H. Thompson) that it had been reported without denial that the station had been licensed to supply milk to Belfast, Kaiapoi, and Rangiora. Mr Langford said yesterday that Rangiora milk vendors obtained their milk from nearby -farms, and at Kaiapoi the milk was supplied by the Devonvale dairy. The treating house of the Devonvale dairy will soon be taken over by the Christchurch Milk Company, and a move to license a treating house to supply the Belfast-Kaiapoi-Rangiora district is being considered by the New Zealand Milk Board.
