MILK COMPANY BUYS TREATING PLANT

made by Mr M. F. Johns, a director of the Devonvale company. “The directors of the Devonvale Dairy Company, Ltd., have concluded arrangements for the sale of the company’s, milk treatment business at Belfast, but not its delivery service, to the Christchurch Milk Company, Ltd.,’’ said. Mr Johns’s statement. “This decision was reached after careful consideration of all aspects, including the economic factors involved in the operation of a treating plant. The change-* over will take place on July 1. “The Devonvale Dairy Company Ltd., will continue with the distribution side of its business, and its customers are. assured of a continuance of the good service which has been rendered in the past.” . The sale of the treating house will mark the end of a venture which is probably not matched anywhere else in New Zealand. According to authorities on town milk supply consulted yesterday, there is no other concern of comparable size which combines the three stages of town milk supplysupply, treatment, and distribution.
