MILK SUPPLIES
Sir,—-! have been a subscriber to your paper for 20 years and I have never read a leading article that made me so angry as the one headed “Milk Supplies.” Last week my milkman sold his round. I now have the Christchurch Milk Company milk. T applied for another milkman to supply me with raw milk. To my -horror. I found that the Christchurch Milk Board would not allow him to supply raw milk outside hi§ ?one. I am convinced that vested money interests have secured a stranglehold on the milk supply in the Christchurch area; and that the interests of the consumer do not matter. Rather the Christchurch Milk Company is determined, by hook or by crook, to serve pasteurised milk only to everyone in Christchurch. The rights of the individual in Christchurch are gone. Dictatorship has shown clearly its greedy hand.— Yours, etc., T. B. LANE. June 6, 1954.
