Heavy rain fell this afternoon, and there will be a change in the ground for the second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s winter meeting tomorrow, when the Great Northern Steeplechase, of £4OOO, will oe decided over a distance of about four miles. For the first day on Saturday,- the track was tn good winter order; tomorrow it is certain to be very heavy. Clifton and Dunwold are expected to be favourites in the Great Northern Steeplechase. ' The double will be on the Great Northern Steeplechase and (the King George Memorial Handicap.
