The choir, with the National Orchestra under Warwick Braithwaite, will sing “The Dream of Gerontius” in the festival this evening. Altogether about 150 of the society’s members have made their way to Auckland. The first of the special airoraft left Christchurch airport at 8.50 a.m. and was followed by other special flights at 9.45 a.m., 3.40 p.m. and 4.50 p.m. On Monday the operation will be reversed with four special flights returning the choir to their home town.
