WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Port Levy.— Mrs W. S. Coop presided at the annual meeting of the Port Levy branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers and welcomed Mrs A. Stott and Mrs Wagner, members of the Provincial executive. It was decided to collect more stamps for the Mission to Lepers. Officers were elected as follows: president, Mrs Ford; vice-presidents, Mrs Haley and Miss L. Richfield; secretary and treasurer, Mrs C. Jenkins; advisory member, Mrs Field; delegates, Mrs W. S. Coop and Mrs R. Turpin; sales table secretary, Mrs Turpin; competition secretary, Mrs Haley. Competition results for the year were:— floral arrangements: Mrs Turpin 1, Mrs Williams 2. Large bloom: Mrs Turpin 1, Mrs Haley 2. Small bloom: Mrs Turpin 1, Miss L. Richfield 2. Sewing Mrs Haley 1, Mrs Ford 2. Cooking: Mrs Haley 1, Mrs C. Jenkins 2. Most points for the year were gained by Mrs Haley. Marshland.—Mrs Halligan, of Belfast, presided over the annual meeting of the Marshland branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. The following officers were elected:—president, Mrs L. Ching; vice-presidents, Mrs Quaid and Mrs L. Stead; secretary, Mrs M. Hopper; treasurer, Mrs H. Dawber; committee, Mesdames C. Clark, L. Allen, S. Watson, S. Lawson and O. Jones; housekeeping secretary, Mrs I. Gibbs; stewards, Mrs A. MacLauchlan and Mrs J. Sheppard; Mrs E. Treleaven and Mrs S. Watsoi» Mrs Halligan then gave an interesting talk on the recent interprovincial meeting. Competition results were:— small bloom: Mrs Stead 1, Mrs Watson 2. Large bloom: Mrs M. Booker 1, Mrs J. Brooklands.—Officers were elected as follows at the annual meeting of »the Brooklands branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers:—president, Mrs Cox; secretary, Mrs Macleod; vice-presidents, Mesdames I. Reidford and P. Duffield; committee, Mesdames Black, Scott, Kirk, Tebay, Kaan and Robinson; delegates to provincial, Mrs Cox. Mrs Macleod and Mrs Scott: advisory member,. Mrs Simmons. Southbrook-Flaxton.—Mrs M. Shuttleworth presided over the monthly meeting of the Southbrook-Flaxton branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. One new member was welcomed. Mrs J. J. Hughey was appointed delegate to the Dominion conference to be held in July. Mrs Munro, retiring competition judge, was presented with a small gift. A competition was won by Mrs Taylor, jun. The hostesses were Mesdames C. Atkinson, L. L. Smith and C. M. Archer. Competitions resulted as follows: large bloom: Mrs E. T. Allen 1, Mrs Atkinson 2, Mrs Matheson 3. Small bloom: Mrs Munro 1, Mrs N. Archer 2, Mrs Jarden 3. Spike: Mrs Allen and Mrs Munro (equal) 1, Mrs Atkinson 2- 3. Cluster: Mrs Allen and Miss Margaret Page (equal) 1, Mrs Page and Mrs C. Leithfleld-Balcairn.—Mrs Bryant prethe monthly meeting of the Leithfield-Balcairn branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Several visitors and a new member were welcomed. The retiring president thanked the secretary, Mrs W. Frost, and Mrs J. Smith, treasurer for excellent services. The Russell-James cup for the year was won by Mrs W. Frost, with Mrs L. Lilley second. Mrs Dermott, advisory member, on behalf of members thankeed Mrs Bryant for her untiring efforts during her three years in office. Officers were elected as follows:—president, Mrs W. Frost; vice-presidents, Mesdames L. Lilley and Moyna and Miss Dron; secretary, Mrs-T. Fleming; treasurer, Mrs T. Moore; housekeeping advisory members, Mesdames Frost and Dermott. Amberley.—Officers were ' elected as follows at the annual meeting of the Amberley branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers:—president, Mrs George; vice-presidents, Mesdames Wells an ° Gray; joint secretaries, Mesdames Kay an .d Russell; treasurer, Mrs Kidd; committee. Mesdames Briggs, Stringer, Graham, McArthur and Denton; housekeeping advisory member, Mrs Boyce; delegates to provincial, Mesdames George, Weils and Kay; substitutes, Mesdames Retallick, Boyce, and Briggs; trustee, Mrs Holloban.

Rangiora.—Miss E. Mclntosh, of the North Canterbury executive, presided over the annual meeting of , the Rangiora branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Mrs G. H. Loffhagen gave an account of the branches’ activities and was congratulated on a good year s work. The balance-sheet s ,^ ed a satisfactory position. Miss Mclntosh presented the Gibson cup to Mrs A. Hill. Mrs Loffhagen was runner up. Te Moana-Four Peaks.—Officers were elected as follows at the annual meeting of the Te Moana-Four Peaks branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers:—president, Mrs C. W. Lynn; senior vice-president, Mrs A. B. Curtis: junior vice-president, Mrs H. Womer; secretary, Mrs F. C. Burrows; treasurer, Mrs A. E. Benbow; advisory members, Mesdames C. W. Lynn, A. B. Curtis; committe, Mesdames A. F. Quantock, and D. Martin; delegates to South Canterbury executive, Mesdames C. W. Lynn, A. B. Curtis and F. C. Burrows.
