SOVIET WARNS SYRIA
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, March 26. Russia told Syria yesterday that she is “strongly opposed to any agreement directed against her, such as the Turkish-Pakistan agreement or a Middle East defence pact,” according to Cairo Radio last night. The radio said the Soviet Minister in Damascus (Mr S. Nemchin) told this to the Syrian Prime Minister (Sabri el Assali) and the Syria.i Foreign Min-lk ister (Fayid el Atassi).
