£140 AN ACRE FOR PASTURE LAND
WOODEND PROPERTY AUCTIONED
At a public auction at Rangiora yesterday £l4O an acre was paid for a block of 22 acres 1 rood 15.6 perches of farm land In permanent pasture on the Woodend-Rangiora road on behalf of Messrs Judson Brothers. Bidding commenced at £BO and rose in £lO bids to £l3O, followed by two bids of ,£5 each to the final figure. The property was purchased by a local solicitor, acting for a client whose name was not disclosed.
A second block of 20 acres and 15.6 perches was sold to Mr R. Gillman, Waikuku, at £125 an acre. The bidding for this commenced at £BO and rose in £lO bids ter £llO, thence in £5 bids to the figure at which it was knocked down.
