The Wanganui cricket representatives retained the Hawke Cup in a match which ended at Wanganui on Saturday. They beat Wairarapa by an innings and 29 runs. Wanganui, batting on Friday; made 372. Wairarapa in reply made 113 on .Saturday in the first innings, and following on, was dismissed for 230. Top scorer for Wairarapa in the first innings was D. McLeod (41). B. Patrick made 26. H. B. Cave took three wickets for 16 for Wanganui, and J. Bergerson three for 38. In Wairarapa’s second innings, Patrick made 68, Blackwood 41, and W. Perry 31. Cave took three wickets for 44, and Brown two for 32.
