A portion of the carpet laid in Westminster Abbey for the Coronation last vear has been bought by old boys of Wanganui Collegiate School resident m England as a centenary gift to the school. Advice to this effect has been received by the headmaster of the school (Mr F. W. Gilligan) from Sir Arthur Porritt, of London, an bld boy of the school. Sir Arthur Porritt bought the carpet on behalf of the old boys. The carpet is now in transit and is expected to arrive in Wanganui about the end of next month. It will be available for the Centenary commemoration services on Easter Day.— (P.A.)
