CUP TO BE DISPLAYED AT WAITANGI fNeto Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 17. The silver cup given by Queen Victoria to the famous Maori chief Tamati waka Nene will be lent by the Auckland War Memorial Museum for display in the Waitangi treaty house on the day of the Queen’s visit. The silver cup was presented to Tamati Waka Nene for his part in ending the Maori wars. It was brought to New Zealand by Sir George Grey, and presented in 1861. The family of the late Mr John Webster, of Opononi. presented the cup to the museum in 1929.
