BUS FARES

Sir.—During the last eight or nine years I have .gone at intervals to Richmond, Nelson, to stay with my daughter. During that time the fare has been £4 10s return, and still is. The distance is roughly 600 miles there and back. To go by the Landliner from Wellington to Auckland, roughly 400 miles, the fare is £4 10s single. It would be interesting to know how the Price Tribunal works it out that Newman’s can carry you an ext-a 200 miles for the same money.—Yours H. J. KLINGENSTEIN. December 16, 1953.
