SUSPENDED SENTENCE Walter John Crawford, a timber worker, aged 40 (Mr E. P. Wills), pleaded not guilty to a charge of assaulting his wife, Rebecca Josephine Crawford, on November 19. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon withing 12 months. REMANDED James Hugh McDonald, aged 33, a storekeeper (Mr E. P. Wills), was remanded to appear on November 25 on a charge of assaulting Darrell John McDonald at Amberley on October 8. Bail was allowed in his own recognisance of £6O and he was ordered to report daily to the police. TRAFFIC CASES Offenders against the traffic regulations, in cases brought by the police, were dealt with as follows: Failing to give way: Harold William Buist, £2; Leonard George Coe, 30s; Adam Davidson, £2; Anthony Charles Harding, 30s; Roy William Jackman, £3; Norman Keith Jones, £2; Richard Pearson, 30s; Robert Alexander Thompson, £2, Driving without due care: Murray John Bate, £2; Kenneth Charles Fenton, £3; John Mair, £2; Albert Clinton Morris, £3. No driver’s licence: Lewis Alan Bradley, £1 (unlicensed motor vehicle, £2). Failing to signal stop: William John Davidson, 30s; George Ernest Scarlett, costs only. Disobeying compulsory stop sign: Stanley Edmond Dwight, £2; Donald B. Maher, £3. No warrant of fitness: Neville James Ferris, 10s.
