F.A.O. CONFERENCE IN ROME
MR R. B. TENNENT TO LEAD N.Z. DELEGATION (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 18. The Assistant-Director-General of agriculture (Mr R. B. Tennent) will lead the New Zealand delegation at the seventh session of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, to be held in Rome beginning next Monday. The other members will be two officers from the New Zealand Government office in London (Mr C. V. Dayus, agricultural adviser, and Mr J. B. Prendergast, trade commissioner) and a commercial secretary. The Minister of Agriculture (Mr K. J. Holyoake) announcing this today, said that New Zealand was interested in world, trade in agricultural produce and was actively concerned with the work of the F.A.O. Sessions of the organisation were held now only every two years, he added and no delegation from New Zealand attended the 1951 conference. s
