STREET PARKING

Sir, —As a frequent user of Ensor’s road, I would like to draw the attention of Mf Kellar, Chief Traffic Inspector to the practice of parking on both sides of Ensor’s road in the vicinity of the Technical College sports grounds when sports are held* on the grounds. With modern cars and flattopped trucks, it is difficult to pass a parked vehicle and an approaching car. i wish Jo suggest that parking be permitted on the east side of Ensor’s road cnly.—Yours, etc., PREFECT. November 4, 1953.

[“lf this, department is notified when sports gatherings are taking place in suph places, the necessary arrangements for control of traffic can be made,” said the traffic superintendent of the Christchurch City Council (Mr G. P. Kellar) when this letter was referred to him. “But it would be unreasonable to impose permanent restrictions on streets such as Ensors road.”]
