‘‘URGENT DECISIONS HASTENED ” (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, November 8. The Chief of the Imperial General Staff (Feld-Marshal Sir John Harding) said at London airport tonight that his conference with the Australian defence chiefs would hasten decisions on many urgent matters.
The Woomera guided missile testing range was proving an “extremely valuable asset,” said Sir John Harding. Weapons were being produced thst would present great testing difficulties "almost anywhere else in the world. Sir John Harding, who visited Singapore on his way back from his Australian and New tour, said the Malayan terrorisß situation continued to improve, but no-one could afford to relax. “The initiative is ours,” he added. “The bandits are on the defensive.” “A tedious, difficult task faces our troops in the Suez Canal Zone," Sir John Harding said. “From what I saw, they are showing great patience.”
