FUTURE TRAINING • BY NEW OWNER
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 8. Mr D. Grist, a former jockey and now a used car salesman, who paid 5300 guineas for My Hero on Friday, intends to train the horse himself.
The brood mare, Regal Gem, which W’as sold for 7000 guineas, a record price for a brood mare In Australia, is a member of the famous Gem family. She has a filly foal at foot by Mast Head, and has been served by Helios, the sire of Wodalla; winner of the Melbourne Cup. Her buyer was Mr Lionel Israel, owner of the Segenhe Stud at Scone, New South Wales.
