LOCAL BODY POLLS PR VISIONAL RESULTS CONFIRMED The results of the final count of votes cast in last Saturday’s local body elections were released by the returning officer for Lyttelton (Mr J. Thompson) yesterday. Mr F. G. Briggs, with 860 votes, wiH retain the mayoralty. Mr F. E. Sutton, who opposed Mr Biggs in the election, received 837 votes. Mr Sutton, however, was elected to the Lyttelton Harbour Board with a large majority. Votes cast for him were 1538; and his opponent, Mr J. W. Fitzgerald, received 908. Mr Sutton WiH represent tne combined district of the boroughs of Lyttelton and Akaroa and the counties of Wairewa and Mount Herbert. nje foHowing have been declared elected to the nine vacancies on the Lyttelton Borough Council:—W.
