Times” commented: “It is difficult at the moment to see how a political conference can take place at ail, and the Western Powers may be faced with the danger that the South Korean President, Dr. Syngman Rhee, will denounce the truce and seek to begin the war again.” “The Times” considered that the Western Powers had made “a wrong decision” over the composition of the Korean political conference. The “Manchester Guardian” called for “a border between firm purpose and undue rigidity.*
