SCOTTISH SOCIETY’S COMPETITIONS
The Scottish Society’s annual vocal and dancing competitions began last evening in the society’s hall in Christchurch. The opening night was well attended, and there was a large number of entries. The results of last evening’s events were:—
Irish Jig.—Under 10 years: Helen Clark 1. Wendy Cannon 2, Kay Hunter and Barbara Pascoe (equal) 3. Highland Reel.—Under 14 years: Joan Wildermoth 1, Rosalind Good 2, Janet Calder 3. Under eight years: Kay Hunter 1, Janice Truman 2, Barbara Brown 3. Seann Triubhais Championship.—Senior: Betty Aitken 1, Janice Barnard 2, Marie Hunter 3. Junior: Joan Wildermoth 1, Jannice Newell 2, Eleanor Kirkwood 3.
