NORTH CANTERBURY GUN CLUB

The North Canterbury Gun Club’s single rise and double rise clay target club championships at Rangiora on Saturday were favoured by ideal conditions. The single rise championship was won by L. W. Kerr and the double rise by C. Booker. Good shooting was seen. In the five-target eye-opener, with 24 entries, D. W. Davison, J. Manson, S. K. Marston. A. N. Turner, I. Boyce, G. E. Croft, and T. A. Everett all shot possibles. The single rise championship of 20 targets, 16 yard rise, attracted 25 entries. Kerr, Boyce, and M. D. Bailey tied with possibles. Kerr won the shoot-off, Bailey being runner-up. A straight-out win was obtained by Booker, with 19 breaks, in the double rise championship of 10 pairs and a 14yard rise. Croft was runner-up, with 17 breaks. The concluding match, a 10-target sweepstake, with 19 entries, was shared hv Manson, W. Counsel!, I. B. Stocks, and Boyce, who all shot possibles.
