ARRESTS MADE IN PERSIA

(Rec. 11 p.m.) TEHERAN, Sept. 19. Demonstrations against the Government led by General Zahedi flared, up in Teheran last night under cover of Moharam. Persia’s most solemn religious holiday. A Government statement said: “Despite the frequent notice given to the public, a number of disturbing elements tried to create trouble and shouted slogans against the interests of the country. A number of them have been arrested and sent to an area : where the climate is bad.” Police sources said the demonstrators had been exiled to Kharg, an island in the Persian Gulf.
