COURSING

Sir,—l would like to congratulate H. Thompson on his (or her) letter. Mr McAlpine should put himself in the same position as the hare. I am very certain he would change his tune that “the hare was only having the dogs on.” Oh, no, the gbdr hunted animal was fighting for its life, with two bloodthirsty hounds chasing it. How anyone could get pleasure out Of watching such cruelty I do not know. As for Mr McAlpine, I listened in to his discourse in the House of Representatives this week and came to the conclusion that he was “running with the hare and hunting with the hounds.” —Yours, etc., CLEAN SPORT. NOT CRUELTY. September 18. 1953.
