WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Yaldhurst.—Final arrangements for the branch birthday party were made at the monthly meeting of the Yaldhurst branch of the Women's Division of Federated Fanners. Mrs T. A. Crawford presided and read the report of the provincial meeting. Mrs T. A. Guy spoke of the Dominion conference which she attended at Auckland. Members were asked to make peggy-square quilts in response to a Dominion appeal Invitation, were accepbranches birthday parties. It was decided that a shrub or. tree be planted in the Returned Services’ Association's ground in commemoration of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11. The president reported on the last meeting of the provincial executive. After the business a successful bring and buy sale was held for funds to help the division’s work. Trough (six inches long): Mrs Stringer 1, Mrs George 2, Mrs Retallick Russell’s Flat.—Mrs McLean presided at the monthly meeting of the Russell’s Flat branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers held in the Russell’s Flat Hall. An interesting talk was given by Miss Judith Sutherland on her trip to Dunedin. The hostesses were Mesdames Hawkins and Lohrey. Cooper’s Creek.—The monthly meeting of the Cooper’s Creek branch of the Women’s Division bf Federated Farmers was held in the hall. Mrs McGrath presided. Mrs Hill was hostess. Competition results were as follows:—three coconut buns: Mrs Marsh 1. Mrs Hill 2, Mrs Bonisch 3. Twelve violets: Mrs Lilly 1, Miss Bonisch 2, Mrs Hill 3. One leek: Mrs McGrath 1, Miss Bonisch 2, Mrs Bowman 3. _ ~ Riecarton.—Mrs F. R. Berryman presided at the monthly meeting of the Riccarton branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Mrs G. W. Fairweather was congratulated on being made a Dominion life member of the division. She reported on the Dominion conference in Auckland. Plans were made for the branch birthday party to be held in September. Competition results were:—spike:

A donation was made to the community chest. Arrangements were made to hold a shop day in September. Mrs A. Stott (president of the Canterbury provincial executive) gave a talk on the recent conference of the division held m Auckland. Results of competitions were as follows:—large bloom, Miss M.
