TRIBUTES TO MR R. S. D. HARMAN

The Canterbury Museum Trust Board yesterday paid tributes io the work of Mr R. S. I). Harman. “Christchurch has lost one of its notable citizens,” said the chairman (Mr J. L. Hay). “I was always impressed with Mr Harman’s close identity with anything in our civic life that was worth while.” As an architect, Mr Harman had been “one of the last of our Gothic men,” said Mr Heathcote Helmore. Another such had ben Mr P. W. Rule. With the death of both, it was difficult to think who would carry on their fine traditions.
