NINE DEAD IN CRASH IN INDIA

Flight Lieutenant A. E. W. Paul, the first man to fly over Everest since it was climbed in June, was one of nine killed when an Indian Air Force Liberator blew up in mid-air near Poona today. The aircraft was on its way from Poona to Jamnagar, West India. A man said he saw the aeroplane with flames spurting from it. Within a minute it had crashed. Flight Lieutenant Paul flew an India Air* Force aeroplane over Everest on June 6 to take photographs.
