DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS

“N.Z. NEED HAVE NO FEAR” <N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 20. No decision has been made about the purchase by Britain of New Zealand dairy produce after July, 1955, Major Lloyd George, the Food Minister, told the House of Commons today. He had been asked by Mr Frederick Willey (Labour) to make a statement on his future policy regarding the purchase and procurement of New Zealand dairy produce. Mr Willey said there was a great deal of anxiety in New Zealand about dairy production. “The sooner we make up our minds t 6 extend our agreement with New Zealand the better the prospects of getting more cheese and butter from them." Major Lloyd George replied: “Present contracts for the purchase of butter, cheese, and milk powder do not expire until July, 1955. No decision has been made about the position thereafter. “New Zealand need have no fear about the future of her dairying industry. The agreement provides that discussions can be deferred until next year.” ■
