(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 19. Unemployment in the United States last year reached the lowest point since the Second World War, said the Census Bureau, in its annual report, issued today. The number of unemployed averaged about 1,700,000 in 1952, compared with 1,900,000 in 1951, and 3,100.000 in 1950. Most of last year’s decline in unemployment w.as attributed to the fact that fewer married women entered the labour market in search of jobs.
