CRITICISM FROM RUSSIA
(Rec. 8 p.m.)' MOSCOW, July 19. The Soviet Commupist Party newspaper “Pravda” claimed today that it was obvious, from the final communique of the Western Foreign Ministers’ conference in Washington, that the Western Powers were already planning a resumption of military operations in Korda after the conclusion of the. armistice. The newspaper stated that by conniving with the South Korean President, Dr. Syngman Rhee, United States ruling circles were encouraging him to further provocations. “It becomes obvious, therefore, that in such circumstances, the success of the truce negotiations in Korea now, as never before, depends on constructive measures which would guarantee the observance of the armistice,” said “Pravda.” “If the United States sincerely desires an early truce in Korea, she should prove the reliability of her guarantees by practical deeds.” “Pravda” alleged that the negotiations between President Eisenhower’s envoy, Mr Walter Robertson, and Dr. Rhee, showed that “this puppet Rhee was entrusted with sabotaging the truce. It is difficult to doubt that Rhee’s masters are not powerful enough to bring him to his senses if they deemed it necessary.”
