WOMEN’S HOCKEY
AUCKLAND TEAM DRAWS WITH SUVA (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SUVA, July 20. The Auckland women’s hockey team piayed a drawn match against the Suva women’s representatives at Albert Park. The score was 1-all. The scorer in each case was the centre-forward, M. Price for Auckland, and Mrs Raddock, Suva captain.
The Auckland defence was sound throughout an interesting game. The Suva girls were faster, but did not show the good combination of the New Zealanders. Although the day was fairly cool, the visitors’ uniforms appeared heavy for the tropics. REPRESENTATIVE GAMES AT DARFIELD In representative women’s hockey matches at Darfield on Saturday, Canterbury A 3 beat Malvern A 2. and Malvern B 4 beat Canterbury B 3.
