Dominion Builders’ Supplies.—A dividend of 7 per cent, is recommended, payable July 31—ex July 24. Patons and Baldwins. —Turnover of Patons and Baldwins, Ltd., makers of knitting wools, increased greatly during the year ended May 3, directors state. The rise in wool prices had enabled the company to realise on stocks without incurring the loss expected by writing down to market values in 1952. Net profit, as reported on May 30, jumped from £38,194 to £329,605. Dividends, 6 per cent, ordinary (the first), £90,000, and 5 per cent, preference, £37,500, total £120,500. Stocks at £2,434,872 are about £67,600 lower. Australian Consolidated Industries.— Dividend recommendations are 4J per cent, on old ordinary shares, making 9 per cent, for the year, and 58 per cent, on the new issue.
